2017 Ford Fusion Engine Power and Performance

The Ford Fusion is outfitted with a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine that can easily reach 175 horsepower. The Ford Fusion also offers a variety of engines to help boost power or efficiency. The optional 1.5L EcoBoost® 4-cylinder can increase the output to 181 horsepower, while the 2.0L EcoBoost® GTDI can deliver a bigger boost of 245 horsepower. The optional 2.7L EcoBoost® V6 shows the biggest boost in power of 325 horsepower. This sedan also offers a hybrid engine, the 2.0L Atkinson-cycle 4-cylinder engine, which provides 141 horsepower and offers an EPA-estimated 43/41 city/highway MPG.

Interior Space and Amenities

This stylish and efficient sedan offers enough room for five passengers with its 102.8 cubic feet of space. The interior is outfitted with cloth seating, which can be upgraded to sport seats with leather surfaces or premium leather seats. In terms of entertainment, the Ford Fusion features a 4-speaker sound system with speed-sensitive volume control-a feature that'll automatically raise the audio levels to compensate for loud engine performance. This vehicle features an AM/FM radio and an MP3-capable CD player. The SYNC® system, also equipped in the Ford Fusion, features voice recognition, allowing you to access your media without taking your hands off the wheel.

Safety Features

The Ford Fusion features AdvanceTrac. This system, working with the anti-lock brakes, adds a little more security when driving on slick roads. Should your vehicle ever experience wheel slip, this system will brake the affected tire while sending more torque to the wheels with the most amount of traction to help keep the vehicle on track. The rear view camera adds ease and precision when it comes to backing in and out of tight spaces.

In terms of collision protection, the Ford Fusion is equipped with an advanced airbag system that'll adjust the inflation pressure to help compensate for the force of impact. The Ford Fusion features dual-stage front airbags, side-impact airbags, and side curtain airbags. Additionally, the Ford Fusion features knee airbags for both the driver and passenger for added collision protection.
